“In all my years, I've never played a video game in which the main character was a mother.” Gameheads students are using video games to tell their stories and talk about the issues that matter most to them. Learn more about Te Amo Mama, in which the gamer plays the role of a mother hen, guiding her baby chick, on KQED’s Rightnowish with Pendarvis Harshaw. 

Coming Up recently launched a $10M Impact Challenge to support the Bay Area nonprofit ecosystem. This is an open invitation to local nonprofit organizations to submit their ideas to address some of the most challenging societal issues facing our community today. Five finalists will be selected to receive $1 million grants and support from Google. Applications are open now through November 8. To learn more and apply, visit

Save the date! Gameheads is partnering with GIVE TV and The Mix to host OakGameFest-’19, a celebration of hip hop, tech, and video games to close out Afrotech this year.
