On Wednesday, Essie Justice Group held a car caravan protest at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation headquarters in Sacramento, drawing attention to the severe impact that the COVID spike around the country is having on incarcerated people. Essie also announced a partnership with Dr. Bronner’s, activist soap company, to deliver life-saving supplies to those incarcerated by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) as part of their Lives on the Line campaign. The Zellerbach Family Foundation recently announced the appointment of Ravi Karra to its board of directors. Karra brings more than four decades of experience to the board and most recently served as chief investment officer and investment advisor at Cambridge Associates for a number of endowments, foundations, family groups, and pension funds.
