On Wednesday, Essie Justice Group held a car caravan protest at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation headquarters in Sacramento, drawing attention to the severe impact that the COVID spike around the country is having on incarcerated people. Essie also announced a partnership with Dr. Bronner’s, activist soap company, to deliver life-saving supplies to those incarcerated by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) as part of their Lives on the Line campaign.
